Overview
Last checked: September 2026. Saudi visa rules, especially for Umrah, change often. Always confirm the latest requirements on the official Nusuk Umrah and Visit Saudi websites before you travel.
Saudi Arabia is one of the most visited destinations for Pakistani travellers, mainly for Umrah, but also for family visits, tourism and business. Pakistani passport holders need a visa before travelling. The right visa depends on the purpose of your trip and whether you hold certain other visas.
Which Visa Do You Need?
- Performing Umrah: most Pakistani pilgrims use an Umrah visa, which comes as part of an Umrah package.
- Holding a used US, UK or Schengen visa: you may qualify for the Saudi tourist eVisa, which also allows Umrah outside the Hajj season.
- Visiting family living in Saudi Arabia: your relative can sponsor a family visit visa.
- Performing Hajj: Hajj has its own separate process through the Government of Pakistan’s Hajj scheme or approved private operators.
How Pakistanis Apply for an Umrah Visa
The Umrah visa is issued together with an Umrah package, which usually includes accommodation and transport. Most Pakistani pilgrims book through a tour operator on the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ list of attested Umrah operators. Saudi Arabia’s official Nusuk Umrah platform also sells visa-included packages, so check whether direct booking is available for your passport when you register.
Always check that your agent is on the official attested list before paying. Unregistered agents are a common cause of fraud and cancelled trips.
Health Requirements
- Meningitis (ACYW) vaccine: required for pilgrims, taken at least 10 days before arrival.
- Polio vaccine: required for travellers arriving from Pakistan.
Carry your vaccination certificates with you, as they may be checked at departure or on arrival.
Important Rules
- Umrah visas are not issued during the Hajj season.
- Book your Umrah and Rawdah permits through the Nusuk app after you arrive.
- Never overstay your visa. Overstaying can lead to heavy fines, deportation and a future ban.
- An Umrah visa does not allow you to work in Saudi Arabia.
