Last checked: September 2026. UAE visa rules for Pakistani citizens have changed several times recently, so always confirm the latest requirements with the official GDRFA Dubai or ICP websites, or your airline, before you apply.
The UAE, and especially Dubai, is one of the most popular destinations for Pakistani travellers, whether for holidays, shopping, visiting family or business. Pakistani passport holders do not get a visa on arrival, so you must have an approved visa before you fly. This guide explains the visa types, current fees, required documents, processing time, and how to avoid the most common reasons for rejection.
Recent Changes for Pakistani Applicants
During parts of 2025 and 2026, Pakistani applicants faced stricter screening, longer processing times and higher rejection rates for UAE visit visas. From around August 2026, visit visas have again been issued more regularly through registered travel agents. However, checks remain careful, so complete and genuine documents are more important than ever.
Types of UAE Tourist Visas
- 30-day tourist visa: single or multiple entry, best for short holidays
- 60-day tourist visa: single or multiple entry, for longer stays
- 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa: for frequent visitors who meet stricter financial requirements
- Family visit visa: sponsored by a relative who lives in the UAE
A tourist visa does not allow you to work in the UAE. If you are going for employment, your employer must arrange a work visa.
UAE Tourist Visa Fees in 2026
The official government fees for a single-entry tourist visa issued through Dubai’s GDRFA are:
| Visa type | Government fee |
|---|---|
| 30-day tourist visa | AED 200 + 5% VAT |
| 60-day tourist visa | AED 300 + 5% VAT |
In practice, most Pakistani applicants apply through an airline or a registered travel agent, who add their own service charges. The total you pay is therefore higher than the government fee, and multiple-entry and express options cost more. Always ask for a clear breakdown before you pay.
Required Documents
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from your travel date, with a clear scanned copy of the first and last pages
- Recent passport-size photo with a white background
- CNIC copy (required for Pakistani applicants)
- Confirmed return ticket or flight reservation
- Hotel booking, or your host’s address and documents if you are staying with family
- Bank statement for recent months, often requested to show you can support your stay
For a Family Visit Visa
- A copy of your sponsor’s passport, UAE residence visa and Emirates ID
- Proof of relationship, such as an FRC or marriage certificate
- Your sponsor’s salary certificate or employment contract, since sponsors must meet a minimum salary requirement
How to Apply: Step by Step
- Choose your visa type: 30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry.
- Choose how to apply: through your airline (for example Emirates, flydubai or Etihad, if you are flying with them), a registered travel agent, a UAE hotel, or a sponsor in the UAE.
- Prepare your documents: make sure all scans are clear and your details match your passport exactly.
- Submit and pay online.
- Receive your e-visa by email once approved, and print a copy to carry with you.
Processing Time
Most tourist visas are processed in about 2 to 7 working days, depending on the visa type, the application channel and how busy the season is. Express processing is often available for an extra fee. Apply at least 1β2 weeks before your travel date to be safe, and avoid booking non-refundable tickets until your visa is approved.
Common Reasons for UAE Visa Rejection
- Unclear or blurry documents: poor-quality scans of your passport or photo
- Name or detail mismatches: spelling differences between your passport, CNIC and application
- Previous immigration violations: earlier overstays, absconding cases or unpaid fines in the UAE
- Weak financial profile: little evidence that you can support your trip
- Unregistered agents: applications submitted through unreliable agents who give incorrect information
Tips for a Smooth Trip
- Never overstay. Daily fines apply for every day you stay beyond your visa, and overstays can affect future visa applications.
- Carry your documents: a printed visa, return ticket and hotel booking. Immigration officers at Pakistani airports and on arrival may ask for them.
- Use a registered agent: check that the agency is genuine and gives written receipts.
- Do not look for work on a tourist visa. Working without a proper work permit is illegal in the UAE.
