Victoria ranks applicants for subclass 190 and 491 state nomination using the Victorian Points Test (VPT). Use this free calculator to estimate your VPT score. The points are based on the official table published on the Live in Melbourne website.

| Your VPT score |
There is no fixed pass mark. Victoria invites the highest-ranked applicants, so your chance depends on the other applicants in the pool. This score is an estimate only.
How the Victorian Points Test Works
The VPT is separate from the Australian Government’s 65-point SkillSelect test. You still need at least 65 points in your SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI), but Victoria uses the VPT to rank everyone who submits a Registration of Interest (ROI). The maximum possible score is 950 points.
| Factor | Maximum Points |
|---|---|
| Age (20–29) | 300 |
| English (Superior) | 200 |
| Victorian earnings (AUD 170,000+) | 150 |
| Experience (more than 8 years) | 100 |
| Education (PhD) | 100 |
| Occupation skill level 1 | 50 |
| Partner skills | 50 |
Important Points
- No pass mark: Victoria invites the highest scores in each round, and also the highest scores within each priority industry (healthcare, social assistance, education and construction for 2026-27).
- New fees: From 2026-27, an ROI costs AUD 60 and a nomination application costs AUD 180 (plus GST if you are in Australia).
- Old ROIs do not carry over: You must submit a new ROI when the 2026-27 program opens.
- Experience bands: The official page lists the bands as shown in this calculator. Check the exact band boundaries on the Live in Melbourne website.
