Saudi Family Visit Visa for Pakistanis: How It Works (2026)

Last checked: September 2026. Saudi family visit visa rules, fees and platforms change often. Always confirm the latest details on the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform and with the official visa centre in Pakistan before applying.

More than a million Pakistanis live and work in Saudi Arabia, and many want to bring their parents, spouse or children for a visit. The Saudi family visit visa makes this possible. Unlike a tourist visa, the process starts in Saudi Arabia, with the family member who lives there. This guide explains how the process works for Pakistani families, what it costs, and the rules to follow.

Who Can Use a Family Visit Visa?

The Sponsor (in Saudi Arabia)

The sponsor is the family member who lives in Saudi Arabia with a valid residence permit (Iqama). Sponsors usually need to meet certain conditions, such as an eligible job category and a minimum salary, so the sponsor should check their eligibility on the MOFA platform before starting.

The Visitors (in Pakistan)

Family visit visas are usually for close relatives, such as:

  • Parents
  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Other relatives, depending on the current rules and the sponsor’s eligibility

Fees in 2026

Fee Amount
MOFA visa fee, single entry SAR 300
MOFA visa fee, multiple entry SAR 500
Digital and insurance service fees About SAR 80 extra
Mandatory health insurance Varies
Visa centre service fees in Pakistan Varies

The sponsor pays the MOFA fee in Saudi Arabia. The visa centre in Pakistan charges its own separate fees. Government fees are not refunded if the visa is refused.

Single Entry or Multiple Entry?

Saudi Arabia has restricted one-year multiple-entry visit visas for nationals of several countries, including Pakistan. In practice, Pakistani visitors should expect a single-entry visa unless the rules change. The length of stay allowed is printed on the visa, so always check it carefully when the visa is issued.

How the Process Works

Part 1: In Saudi Arabia (the Sponsor)

  1. Log in to the MOFA visa platform using an Absher account.
  2. Choose “Family Visit Visa” and enter the visitor’s passport details and relationship.
  3. Upload the documents, such as the visitor’s passport copy and proof of relationship.
  4. Pay the MOFA fee through SADAD using the application number.
  5. Get approval and send the approval or application number to the family in Pakistan.

Part 2: In Pakistan (the Visitor)

  1. Complete Enjaz registration, which is required for Saudi-bound travellers from Pakistan.
  2. Book an appointment at the official Saudi visa centre (VFS Tasheel) in Pakistan.
  3. Submit your documents and give biometrics at the visa centre.
  4. Collect your passport with the visa once it is issued.

Documents Checklist

  • Proof of relationship: Family Registration Certificate (FRC), Nikah Nama for a spouse, or birth certificate or B-Form for children

Important Rules

  • No work: visitors cannot work in Saudi Arabia on a family visit visa.
  • Check your stay period: leave Saudi Arabia, or extend legally, before your permitted stay ends.
  • Extensions: some visit visas can be extended from inside Saudi Arabia through the official government platform, for a fee. Do this before the visa expires.
  • Never overstay: overstaying can lead to heavy fines, deportation and a future ban, and it can also cause problems for the sponsor.
  • Umrah: visitors on a family visit visa can usually perform Umrah outside the Hajj season, after booking a permit through the Nusuk app.

Common Problems

  • Sponsor not eligible: the sponsor’s job category or salary does not meet the requirements
  • Relationship not proven: missing or unclear documents, such as an FRC that does not show the relationship
  • Name mismatches: spelling differences between the passport, CNIC and MOFA application
  • Skipping Enjaz: applications cannot proceed without Enjaz registration
